There have been 4 recalls on my 2018 Honda Ridgeline. I get that recalls happen but in these cases it is the company response that matters most.

And on this matter, Honda Canada fails miserably. For instance, for my last recall, it took 16 months for the parts to become available for the repair. Not acceptable (!!) considering that during that time we continually have a concern about whether the vehicle will strand my family because of a faulty fuel pump motor. More recently (May 2025), we received a warranty extension notice due to a "torque converter lock up piston" that may crack.

Here again, Honda is not fixing the problem or even trying to determine if there is one. Instead, they want us to wait another 3-4 years to see if a problem develops. Really!! So, I call Honda to question this issue, they said to bring it in for them to look at on our dime, what??

I asked for a Manager to explain why i have to pay and have heard nothing in 9 days. Summary. This will be the last Honda product I purchase. Their quality has deteriorated and they do not back their product.

My advice.

Buy Toyota, my other vehicle. Awesome product with no issues, recalls, or need for customer service, Very nice!

Bought a new Honda CRV Hybrid with water in it.in it

My 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring edition came rom the factory with its Sunroof A frame drain not connected. Every day it rained it was filling with water until we could hear water sloshing around under the seats.

Honda dried the vehicle out but refused any other compensation. Poor customer service and condescending on phone calls.

Issue with Toronto Honda

I spoke with customer service regarding deceitful business practices at Toronto Honda. Customer service was understanding and sympathetic regarding my issues.

They assured me that my concerns would be escalated to senior management. A month has transpired and I have had no contact from Honda Canada. I have lost faith in Honda and future dealings will not involve Honda products.

It seems that Toronto Honda and Honda Canada are not interested in moving product or maintaining a high level of customer service. Shame on Toronto Honda and Honda Canada.

I've been having non-stop problems with my Civic. I went to Honda Canada for a goodwill repair with a diagnostic from another mechanic.

They got all the car info and they told me if I paid $170 (after taxes) for a diagnostic through Honda, they would be able to help me with a goodwill repair. I did that. They called today saying they can't help me because my car is too far out of the warranty. They knew this when I gave them my car info but still told me to pay for another diagnostic and then denied me!

Honda has gone so far downhill and their customer care is zero. I'll never buy another Honda again after twenty years of owning.
